IES Funds Math Text-to-Speech Improvements


Two of MeTRC’s research community affiliates have joined forces to modify MathType™ and Math Player™ so that students who are blind or visually impaired will be better able to learn, practice, and take math and science tests on equal footing with their classroom peers.

ETS and Design Science will work together to enhance MathPlayer and customize MathType so that math encoded in MathML will sound and function in ways that that students will more easily comprehend.
